"lady with an ermine"/"die dame mit dem hermelin" by leonardo da vinci is a painting from around 1489–1490. the subject of the portrait is cecilia gallerani, she was the mistress of lodovico sforza, duke of milan, and leonardo was in the service of the duke. there is a lot of symbolism going on in this painting, look it up if you're interessted!
